On board 3. Why not 1d (p) 2nt to start? I like the lead coming into me.
That is not unreasonable. I think 1♥ is also reasonable. Often in spades we want the lead coming into partner, like if they have just the queen. But 2NT is not wrong.
Board 1 - you don’t mention if S should consider sacrificing in 5D over their 4S - if you think you’re making 3D, could be worth trying for 5D-2 ?
Sacrificing is not insane, but the reason I wouldn't is there is too good of a chance of beating 4♠. We might have two diamond tricks or a club ruff.
