Hello Gavin. Board 5 you say there is no penalty to be had (of 3S presumably). Is Qxx not enough to double holding 10 HCP. Playing the deal here East/West get to 3S, North passing 1S. I doubled and found the defence for down 1. My question really is should South pass 3S and not double. Thank you.
I don't see any real reason for south to double. You don't want to defend 3♠X, where just hopefully you find the perfect defense for down 1. Too much risk for not enough reward.
