In the first board whether 2NT will not be a slow down bid after the reverse by the opener??
That only applies after a reverse. This is a jump shift. There is no need for a slow down bid because you are already forced to game.
On board 3, I erred. The bidding went 1 ❤️ pass 1 NT pass and I bid 2♠️. I thought about 2NT but showed my spades as a reverse because I didn't consider the fact that my partner couldn't have 4 spades. My bad. My partner then bid 3❤️. I figured he had nothing and had taken a preference. Maybe I'm misunderstanding him because we don't talk, we only text. But he wrote that his 3❤️ bid was "a forward going bid not weak." He wrote that 2 NT or a new suit by him would have been weak -- just the opposite of how I would have interpreted such bids. 😱 I know that my 2♠️ reverse was wrong, but what about the aftermath of that erroneous bid? I need to know if Ishould rethink my self-evaluation and identify myself as a beginner rather than an intermediate!?!
Don't worry about how you rate yourself! Typically after reverses, the cheaper of 2NT or the 4th suit shows responder wants to sign off somewhere, whereas if responder supports opener directly that is forcing. But some people play differently after 1♥ - 1NT - 2♠, so you can always discuss it with partner to make an agreement.
On board 3, could N not show some slam interest - that club suit is a great source of tricks - if partner has good trumps and aces ? Seems quite possible after partner shows 18-19.
On Board 4, if partner leads CQ at T1 and dummy wins CK, would you as N encourage to show the ten or discourage to try to get a spade switch?
