Hi Gavin et al. New interface looks nice but a few glitches this morning. I clicked on hand 3 and played a few cards then realised I’d played that one already so clicked on hand 4 but the interface stayed on hand 3. If I played 3 all the way through again, then I could get to 4 so I did that. Then after hand 6 I clicked go back to video and watch your review (it didn’t jump directly to the review of board 6 but I just selected that chapter as before) but when I came back to play board 7 the interface was on the final trick of board 6 and there did not appear to be a button for continue or next board in the shark bridge interface. I have South and north hands open in separate tabs which might be causing issues - not sure. If the continue button or the left right arrows to go to next or previous board were showing up in the shark bridge interface as I think they did before then all would be well. Guess some glitches are to be expected with the redesign. Hopefully you can sort them out. All the best - G
Hi Geoff, Thanks for the report. I think everything should be fixed. Please keep the bug reports coming. There was no way for me to really cover this level of detail in the rebuild.
Thanks Gavin - I’ll check again later today. Fully appreciate that you can’t possibly test anything hence sending the bug report straight away. I’ll let you know if I find something else. One small thing - is logging in only via a sign in link ? Usually this kind of thing is just for the first log in. Would be easier if saved credentials allowed log in directly. Site looks great though - would be interesting to hear about how you went about building it. All the best - Geoffrey
2 questions on Bd #4: If the N hand bids Michaels, Gavin said that 3NT by S would be an offer to play. Sitting N, I would have probably taken 3NT as the "asking for minor" bid.... Is this partnership agreement or is it a general rule that at the 3 level, the no trump bid is no longer asking? Question 2: When N overcalls 2S (as in the recommended sequence), how many clubs does N promise by bidding 3c in response to partner's 2NT?
As a rule, 3NT is always an offer to play if it possibly can be. 3♣ shows 4 or more clubs.
How would you look for a minor suit fit after Michael’s over a weak 2 as here ? I’m guessing 4C or 5C both pass or correct ? If so is 4C non forcing invitational or looking for slam ? I guess the former as with the latter you could have used leaping Michaels ? Also would 4NT be minors here and how would that differ from 5C pass or correct ? I don’t think there’s anything on advancing Michaels over weak 2s in the masters series but if I’ve missed it, please could you direct me to the right lesson. Thanks Update - might have found the answer - is it just the same as slide 75 „meckwell applies” in masters series Michaels and unusual class?
We really enjoyed playing and learning in this game. However, on board 2 today we repeatedly called for a director as our opponent claimed incorrectly and it was accepted in error. No one ever responded.
Board 2. Called director repeatedly. Board 2 - incorrect claim. In 2S making 3. Incorrect cliam result was -1. Can you correct the score for Board 2 and our overall result?
