Board #3: I think instead of playing small Diamond to 10 of Diamond (we are trying to finesse K and J of Diamonds) we should play 9 of Diamonds hoping to let go if not covered by Diamond figure. If not cover we let it go. In my case they covered 9 with J, I covered with Q went back to E and play small Diamonds to finesse King. Allows you (potentially) to stay uninterrupted .
RE B8, would you always balance with a singleton even vulnerable? In the balancing seat after opps 1NT, I held Q853 JT854 A85 T. We play Meckwell so I doubled and we found 2H. Down 1 for 85%, but DD says we should be down 2 for -200, Partner thought we got lucky and I should not have balanced. Would vulnerability and suit quality suggest not balancing here? Northing is perfect and maybe you got a little lucky, but I would balance even vulnerable on very light hands with a singleton.
