on board 4 is it ok for south to bid 4h on their 3rd bid to show a control (shortness) ?
Thats not what 4♥ would show. It shows 5-5 in the majors with no slam interest. See the 2NT opening structure class for more details.
Thanks - suspected I was over elaborating - I guess that using Vinny here is just to stop in 3S if partner is really minimum for a vulnerable pre-empt and bid 4S if partner shows anything more at all
Hi Gavin - how would you bid board 5 using Vinny 2NT ? I tried 2S-2NT-3C-3D-3S-4S - is that reasonable ? Not sure if it’s useful to ask about shortness here or not.
You answered your own question when you found out partner was balanced and still placed the hand in 4S. There was no value in finding out opener's shortness. 2S-2N-3C-4S would be my auction.
I would like to retrospectively bid these hands with my partner. There is a USEBIO download for the session available from within Intobridge, but no PBN option. Intobridge won't let me import a USEBIO file to a private table, only PBN files. Is this because these hands were first played on BBO, so I can download from there and convert to PBN ?
Hi Marc, to eliminate the need of downloading PBNs and uploading them to BBO or other websites to be able to play the deals, we added a feature to Wolpert Bridge that let's you play the deals here. You can click on the 'Play All Deals' button on the right of the video, then you can click on the @ sign at the North seat and enter your partner's email address. They will get an instant email from Shark Bridge and as soon as they accept the invitation, they will be seated at your table and see the same deal. In fact, you can invite two more friends to your table and four of you can play the deals. They do not need to be Wolpert Bridge students to be able to play at your table. Or you can play against robots. Many players open Wolpert bridge in two separate windows, in one of them they have the post-mortem video and or the lesson notes, and in the other window they have the bridge deals. This way you can play a deal and then watch the commentary for that deal. If you need more information, please email me at support@wolpertbridge.com
That's awesome. I did enter an email of a friend while trying to get it to work, but I hadn't warned them and they wouldn't have been expecting it. Will definitely give it another try now.
Hi there - I do this to replay NS hands but it’s a little more difficult to reply the hands as EW - I can invite myself and partner as EW but end up still playing south as well. With a PBN I could play more easily from any seat. Any way to replay from EW more easily ? Side question - any idea why I can upload a PBN to intobridge on my laptop but not on my ipad ? - thanks
IntoBridge developers said they are not aware on an issue with uploading PBNs from an Ipad. They said you should get in touch with them directly by emailing stefan@intobridge.com.

What was incorrect about X the 1 NT opening bid on bd 8 using DONT. Was it because you need more points to bring in that system? How many points would you need to exercise any of the interfering bids? Cappelletti, DONT or Meckwell. Thank you. It was a disaster.
I try to have an opening hand or very close to it when I act in the direct seat over 1NT. Double does absolutely nothing to obstruct the opponents. It only helps them play the hand better. In the balancing chair I would certainly reopen with double.
