On a hand like this https://tinyurl.com/yvnav47n would you show spade support with 3 cards or rebid your diamonds?
I would show support because its a really nice hand that I want to encourage partner to look for game. North should bid 3NT (playing standard) or 2NT spiral raise to ask if youre playing that.
On Bd 2 I opened IN partner didTexas and then 4 N. Ended up in 6H after5D response. Should we have stopped in 5
You can't stop in 5 once you keycard. You have enough keycards for slam. If you stop thats using chicken blackwood. West's hand just isnt enough to go to slam. 10 points opposite 15-17 will not make slam very often. If they wanted to make a slam try, perhaps they could have transferred and splintered in diamonds. I tend to worry about getting to the right hand and never really push for 25-27 point slams.
Board 7. What are the rules for penalty doubles? Not to worry if this is too much to ask. Perhaps you have done a lesson on this. Thank you Gavin.

On Hand #5, as west I bid INT semi-forcing to partner's east's bid of 1 spade. You said you bid 2 spade, a constructive raise. I'm old school and have no problem with the 2 spades response. When would I do 1 NT forcing/semi-forcing? Is there a lesson I should review? Gwen D
I think I discuss this in my Major Suit Response Structure class. https://www.wolpertbridge.com/lessons/major-suit-response-structure I bid 1M-2M with 8 dummy points 100% of the time. With 7 I can go either way depending on if I like my points. This hand has 8 dummy points. 7 HCP + a doubleton.
