Thanks for playing in the Wolpert Bridge Duplicate Game. I hope you enjoyed the session.
One of the goals of these duplicate games is for you to meet each other and maybe find other people to practice with.
Another goal of these duplicate games is to find a way for you to continue learning and practicing what you have learned in my lessons. That was one of the best ways I learned bridge, playing deals and then going over them afterwards. So, if you have any questions about the hands you have played in these games, use the Q&A section below the video to ask your questions.
When asking a question, please reference the deal number. You can also go to BBO, and chose the deal you have played, and from the menu choose 'Export', 'Handviewer link', and copy the link and paste it in the comments together with your question.

Board #7 - Why is N bidding 3 Clubs rather than 2 Spades? How does N determine S is showing 4 cards in Clubs? I believe Gavin mentions in his Lesson on Support Dbls - bid the 7 Card Major fit rather than going back to the Opener's Minor Suit at the 3 Level? Thank you!
There is a small chance south has three cards in clubs if they are exactly 3433. But with any other distribution they have 4+ clubs, so bidding 3C seems to be with the odds.

michaels ALWAYS with 5+5 unusual 2nt, also ALWAYS with 5+5
Yes I would NEVER use either Michaels or Unusual 2NT without at least 5-5. Its a little different when the opponents have already found a fit, then we have a little more safety, so I might use (1♥) P (2♥) 2NT with 5/4 in the minors.
Funny on board 10 not one pair bid the way you summarized. I was West so didn't get a chance to open 1nt....trying to get my partner to though.
I found it a little ironic that I am advocating for an auction that gets you a terrible score. A key component to improving at the game is understanding that doing the right things does not always lead to the best outcome.
